I’ve spent a lot time working on paper, and in this particular series the paper was treated and stretched like a traditional canvas painting would be. The goal was to have total control of the end result; I was determined to build a product with readily available materials such as paint, paper, wood, screws, and varnishes. After the Paintings were completed the task of stretching the paintings over the wooden stretcher began. Slowly the paper was pulled and secured to the wood; many of the paintings done for this series did not make it due to tares from the stress of the stretching process.
During this time I felt that painting the art work was not enough, I wanted to built each one of these pieces in its entirety.
